Hevi-shot is not round. Never has been, never will be. Its all due to the way its manufactured. If you are expecting to see round hevi-shot then you will not be happy.

I don't see why you guys are upset to see deformed shot? It patterns tighter and hits harder than any steel load I have ever shot. So it must not be making a difference.

I will NOT shoot hevi-metal though. That is a big load of BS. "we matched the hevi-shot perfectly to the steel to optimize blah blah blah" Well if the hevi-shot is the same as the steel, then whats the advantage over a full steel load? Anything that warrants $6 a box more? Nope
 
Oh and regarding the flax seed, that has been in there since they first came out years ago. It used to say what it was on the side of the box.
 
I've been handloading Hevi-Shot since around 2002, or so. As the photos show, the HS pellets come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Kind of looks like welding slag.

But, HS hits like a bag of hammers!
 
K-22hornet, the Hevi-Shot in the Hevi-Metal load actually looked more uniform in size and roundness than the Hevi-Shot B Goose load I opened up a few years ago and the Hevi-Shot B shot I got from BPI in the past.
