Pipe dream not a joke!

I had read about the pipe dream set on trapperman.com and decided to give it a try. Well, took a week but I caught this nice male coyote with it this morning. 10 foot away was a dirt hole set but I guess he thought the pipe looked interesting. Who would have thought.

Tried a couple and had tracks outside trap pattern... When I put some more traps out I will put trap about 12" back this time. They for sure come and check out the pipe. Good catch.

I would guess my trap was between 9-12 inches back. I reset the set in the same spot but dropped some of his scat down my dirt hole in hopes of catching his buddy. Only problem is its raining out now and suppose to turn to snow before we go sub zero later in the week. Rats

I make it just like a dirt hole set, only I put a pipe in the hole and let it stick above the ground 6 inches. I use schedule 40 1"1/4 inch electrical pipe. Marks set has you pound out your trap bed in a hay field/short grass and then just cover the trap on grass clippings. The idea is that it is a weather proof set. This trap was bedded that way, just grass clippings over it, no dirt.

if ground ain't froze, dig or drill a dirt hole on edge of catch circle, and all you do is set trap like regular dirthole and only thing you do is take the paw off the coyote from the circle and put it in the hole, it is a great set.
