Pistol for wife. CARRY GUN.

My 3" SP. I'd stay away from ANY 380. Ammo cost for practice is insane. Terminal performance is sorry to say the least. I tell all my ladies taking my defensive handgun class that the last thing they need is a 380. In the grips of tunnel vision, audible loss, and loss of fine motor skills, they don't need a marginal weapon to save their life. Take a 300 lb man.Put him in a Carhart coat. Then jack him up on the latest mind altering drug and try to "stop" him with a 380. Oh he may eventually die from some injury. After he has killed your girlfriend. I've sat through a bunch of "cruiser cam" footage of officers being attacked by all kinds of folks.Big and small. Sometimes they die infront of their own cruiser. Trained officers with 40 Smiths. Give your wife/girlfriend as many advantages as you can.

I've assisted with several CCW classes and worked as a Range Safety Officer enough to have observed both women and men that were 'over gunned' for their ability and personal comfort, usually at their spouse's/SOs insistance....To that point, I've seen police officers that I questioned their ability to shoot what they carried...

While the .380, or .32, is not 'ideal' for most situations, there are those occasions where it is the most optimum weapon to carry into social situations...In all cases, it is better to be armed with 'something' than to be unarmed because the 'victim' chose to leave it at home...
