i will be shooting these out of a RRA predator pursuit midlength rifle. twist is 1:8. ill be shooting at coyote and similar sized game. ive kind of narrowed the list down after some research.

Black Hills Ammunition: 50 gr. V-Max, 60 gr. V-Max, or 62 gr. Barnes Triple-Shock X
Fiocchi Extrema Ammunition: 50 gr. V-Max

the fiocchi is the cheapest and has good reviews. what have yall had good experience with? thanks

60 gr Vmax will have a lot more kinetic energy and less likely have any runners. That would be my choice, but have killed plenty of coyotes with the 50s too. Had spinners and runners with less than sweet shots. A little off and those 60s will help.

I'd try a box of each to see what my rifle liked...hoping it was the 60 gr VMAX for reasons stated above.

That said, my calling partner's RRA absolutely loves 50 gr Fiocci's. Cheap and super accurate in his rifle. Never would have predicted it, but if you don't try them out you don't find out.

I'd do as sendit223 said. Try a couple different ones and see which one your gun likes the best. Any one of those would do well as a coyote bullet. Don't leave the 40 grain vmaxs out either. I had a 1 in 8 twist that just loved them and boy did they drop the coyotes.

I have had good luck with the Black HIlls Blue Box. Buy a box of 50gr vmax and a box of 60gr vmax and see which on you're gun likes best.

i load 55gr v-max with great results. if the choices are 50gr or 60gr i would go with the 60gr. downrange energy with the extra 5 grains is more than you would think.

I went through this same debate last week. I ended up buying:

PMC Ammunition Bronze 223 Remington 55gr FMJBT-1000rd/CASE
Hornady V-Max 55 Grain Box of 20
Hornady SUPERFORMANCE Varmint 53 Grain V-Max Box of 20
Black Hills 60 Grain Hornady V-Max Box of 50
Black Hills 55 Grain Soft Point Box of 50
Plan is to sight it in with the cheap PMC and fine tune with the others. May have to look into Fiocchi too!

ya i would have gotten the fiocchi 50 gr v-max but they were back ordered till 12/16 so i paid the extra to get the black hills now

I would take advantage of that 8 twist barrel if you reload and try some of the heavier bullets in 68-70 gr.

are there any ~70gr hunting bullets you would recommend?

i dont have the time or funds to get into reloading at this point in time. i do not shoot enough to make that a worthwhile hobby right now. i plan on getting into it later on though.

I've had excellent results with the 60gr VMax over Hodgdon's max charge of Benchmark or IMR8208...in both my compact Ruger M77 and my DPMS 16" bull barrel AR. It smacks um real good!

I have had great luck with both the Hornady 55gr V-Max and the Winchester Silver Tip. The Hornady works great for coyotes and bobcats, but damages the foxes a little. The Winchester seems to be a little more forgiving to the foxes and bobcat furs.

Both are equally accurate and I have had no feed problems.

Who has used the Nosler 69 gr. match bullet..
It uses the J-4 jacket (thin jacket) and should work really well.

I just haven't gotten out to use it and report on it, but figure to .

Anyone using it yet......should be more explosive than the Sierra 69. and plenty good b.c. for wind.
