PM in Africa

All, I have recently returned from a predator/varmint/big game hunt in South Africa coordinated by "Lochi in Africa" of this board. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif Though I was unable to hunt with him because of other obligations, he made sure that I was well taken care of. I hunted with a couple of his buddies there, who treated me quite well and ensured my success. I haven't had time to download and "massage" the digital pics yet, so I'll save a full, detailed report of the entire hunt until then (probably next week). Suffice it to say that I had a great time, the predator/varmint numbers in SA are reduced slightly, and I'm fired up to return ASAP (though the 42 hours of travel time from Gerhard's door to mine dulls that desire a little /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif).

More next week.

ah man that is just not nice come on here and tell us you had a good time ,then tell us it will be next week before we get to hear the story and see the pics ! that's just not right! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angry-smiley-055.gif
look forward to hearing and seeing the post! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Wow, what a tease. I think you just might be an old college girlfriend in disguise????

Troy,

I am sure these guys will appreciate the photos and the stories you have to tell. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

So let them wait a bit more. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yeah, sorry for the delay. I'm busy catching up on family time (sure missed those kiddos), work (didn't miss that), and setting up the research project for my Master's degree right now. I should have some breathing time this weekend to finish the pictures and write a nice detailed report.

Hey Desert Ram, good to see you back safely!
I only returned yesterday from the bush after 16 days on safari with the 2 Florida guys. Pity you could not meet up with them in the end. BTW we managed to get them all they wanted (about a dozen heads of big game inclusive of impala, bles buck, warthog, kudu, wildebeest, eland, zebra bushbuck and ..... jackal of cause!)

Folks, this Desert Ram guy can shoot!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif Because of an airport strike he could only come at a rescheduled time that clashed with another safari I had on, so I had to depend on my PH buddies to guide him (bad people believe me). However, it now seems to have worked out even better than had I done it myself /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif They tell me he was night-shooting at foxes and jackals beyond 300 yards, hitting them on the nose and then complaining “it was 1 inch low” – wow!
Andrew and Gerhard and Wimpie did a sterling job for sure – far better than I could have done myself. Thanx Desert Ram for putting up with my re-arrangements at the last minute.

Lochi.

Lochi, it's great to hear that John and company got all they were after. No worries about Wimpie, Gerhard, and Andrew - those chaps had everything well lined out for me. I would gladly hunt with any one of them again.

I've uploaded pics to my web hosting service, but left the full written report on my home PC. With some luck and cooperation from my dialup service I'll have the full report posted tonight.

Troy

Troy.....you are stringing us out waaaay to long. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Lochi could have typed the report, hand delivered the photos, and posted them by now....... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Congrats on your hunt!!

I leave for Namibia one week from today for our safari.

Bob

Lochi,

Mine is overdue.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

But, my wife and I have a "One Day" list. We've only been married 4 years and have accomplished about half of our "one days." And, a trip to see you is on that list.

Let's hope my ship comes in before I'm too old to do it.

Randy
