You are missing the point. The aluminum mags are in a sense being kept in reserve. On a Marines pay he might only be able to afford a few Pmags. What is telling is the magazine he is relying on for initial contact with the enemy is a PMAG.

For all you who are anti Magpul, when they start selling 10 packs of metals mags for $900, you might then have an argument.....that is right, they are that good.!!!

So is the Marine Corps now issuing mechanic's gloves too?
The last picture is of the guy from future weapons!

The only thing that Pmags bringing high prices proves is that there are too many people with more money then brains...

OK OK you win... You two commando's really seem legit...

A friend had a loaded p-mag in his safe. When he opened the safe he found loose ammunition in the bottom of the safe. When he asked the gun shop about it they told him not to fill them to capacity and to store them with the top cover on and it would keep the feed lips from spreading. [beeep]?

I have a half dozen or so p-mags new in wrappers. They will stay that way till I sell them or the need a rises to use them. My aluminum usgi mags work just fine.

That's a real good point... I've never seen a cap for a metal mag.

No hater's here...

That is because a cap would bent the metal and it would become a paperweight.

One son did 3 TODs in Iraq and all they used were the metal magazines & never had one fail in a firefight...ever. His & fellow buddies lifes depended on them way to many times to count.
The other did 2 TODs in Afghanistan and there were no pmags in his fighting equipment either.
I have never been impressed by pmags myself.

Heck, this has been the best post in the AR section since that craziness about million dollar AR being better because they cost a million dollars. We need more of this kind to debate. I guess it is time to agree to disagree before the personal attacks start. So for my passing note on the subject is I don't think metal mags are junk, I have about 85 of them and use them a lot. BUT the Pmags I have hold up better and are more reliable in the long run. Sorry if I ruffled anyone feathers by informing them that they were wrong on the subject.....Gentleman, sometimes the truth hurts!!!

SO then do you wanna trade for my Pmags? You get superior mags and I get a few more Mags. I'm serious no more BS. I'd take two for one if that will get it done...

I've been shooting AR's for about 15 years, I still have never ran over a mag with my truck. I guess some guys have all the luck. When it comes to hunting is sub-zero temps I'd rather have metal then plastic. Just my preference.

For those cheap pieces of.........joking. Normally I would, but knowing what some pour sucker will want to pay for my metal mags in a month when they dry up, I will pass.

On a side note one of my cracked Pmags was caused by being ran over during a slow speed dismount drill.....it still runs great.......just saying brother, I'm still right!!

GI mags do work great if you know which ones to get

GI mags may start off cheaper than Pmags but that's before adding the cost of upgrading the GI mags that need it

I find I prefer using Pmags when I go shooting

Pmags are easier to dis-assemble when it comes time to clean them

The Pmag feed lips have less stiction than aluminum mags

Every Pmag I've bought worked every time. I've had to test fire the GI mags to sort those that work from those that don't even after upgrading to Magpul followers

Agreed. Standard USGI aluminum mags with up to date followers are excellent but I find MAGPUL mags are a bit more resiliant and have features I find useful like the window and feed lip cover. There really is nothing to debate here. Some of you guys are getting caught up in this argument due to panic buying prices. That has nothing to do with the merits of either magazine. I have purchased MAGPUL mags for as low as $10 and windowed mags for $12. It's not like there was a big price difference between the two so why not go with the one with the most up to date features. What I find funny is some of you guys that are hating on MAGPUL polymer magazines are the most dyed in the wool NFA/Plum Crazy plastic lower fans who have stated over and over that NFA plastic is just as good as 7075 T6 aluminum.

If you did serve in the Marines, which I doubt. You are the first one I've ever ran into that didn't get any common sense or self control ingrained during your service. The fact that you made a BS claim of Pmags being issued is proof enough that your pretty much a liar...
