I have about 20 pcs of PMC brass is it ok or worth it to reload? I also have some bras with r-p and f c as the stamp What brands are those?

I have seen a lot of PMC and FC brass that has crimped primers so be aware of that. You will have to remove the crimp before priming.

Thks. My new set up should be here on tues. Got the bench all set up and waiting. Just need to go find some primers and powder. Does a 243 win take large rifle primers?

I know from your original posting that your loading manual is coming and you're probably just wanting to pick up some supplies before it all shows up...so, to answer your question, yes.

Disregard the crimped primers I thought it was .223 brass. I have not seen any .243 brass that has been crimped.Sorry for the confusion.

Well of course the local gun shop is out of primers for a week and will only get acouple hundred of each. May get all this stuff and not beable to reload anyways.

Most gun shops are limiting primers and ammo to 2 boxes per day. Just go back the next day and pick up a couple more, and the day after... I've been on the shoot 1 buy 2 program for my HMR, 500'ish or so in the case right now. It the only thing I shoot that I can't reload and I've been shooting the heck out of it for the last couple months.

Shops around here have been out of rifle primers for a while, lots of large pistol and magnum large pistol though.

I hope the PMC 243Win. Brass is a lot better than their .223 Rem. brass.
I bought 5 box's of PMC 223Rem ammo went out and shot 60 rounds so I could start working up a load for my AR 15 ( waiting for my shipment of Win, Brass). What I found was 25 of the 60 pcs. of brass the flash hole was not in the center of the primer pocket. IN my opinion PMC brass is no good at least their .223 Rem brass.
I use Winchester brass for all my reloading.

All companies will put out a bad run of brass every now and then, they will get an employee that does not care, comes to work hung over, or smokes a joint on break.

I've had bad lots of all brands of brass with the exception of lapua, so don't hate all of PMC brass.

There are two types of PMC brass. One is headstamped ELD and the other is stamped PMC. The stuff that is headstamped PMC is made in Korea and is as tough as Lapua brass in 243, 22/250, 270, and 257 Weatherby that I have had. If you have some 243 brass that is headstamped PMC, you are a lucky man indeed.

Thks guys. Any one have any 243 brass they would like to part with? I need about 50 more cases but dont really want or need the expensive new brass.

Had the same problem myself several years ago. Broke several decapping pins before actually looking at the brass & discovered you could actually see them off cemter. NO MORE PMC BRASS for me.

i have bought only 1 box of federal ammo for my boys 270. out of those 20, 2 primers were gone when i opened the bolt, and most had black around the primers. just my 2 cents worth.

Depending on your local , Randals has primers and powder in stock. Where are you located?
