Polar Bear Rug

Anybody out there that knows the value of a polar bear rug? I got a message on the phone from a lady that wants to sell one. She said that it cost $10,000 in 1985.
Any help would be appreciated. I don't suppose she would just give it to me to get it off her hands. What kind of a sob story should I tell her so that she will beg me to take it?

Snoman,
Be very careful. The polar bear is protected under the Marine Mammal Act. I haven't followed the rules lately but the polar bear used to be prohibited from entering the US. The rules may have changed since me being in Alaska so look them up and know what your getting into before taking it off her hands.

You can not bring them into the US

You might can not bring new ones into the US. Ones brought in before the ban are quite legal. Just make sure the paperwork is in order that establishes when it was harvested.
