I know some of you have polished non-stainless bolt bodies. The one above has cerakoted flutes/knob/lugs/shroud but polished body. The last time I fluted a non-stainless bolt and left it naked it rusted on me. I had it teflon coated. Stainless ones have not rusted when left bare.

Well, I kinda forgot about that little fact when I had this one done. Obviously I will keep it oiled. Question is, who has polished non-stainless bolt bodies? Is rust an issue for you?

Thanks..........

Have you considered a high gloss application of CeraKote? I have been told that a 12:1 ratio of paint to hardener will give a great and glossy finish. A light application of oil and steel wool will make it even higher gloss. This in ine of their SS colors may just work for you...just adding another thought to the process.

I have polished several Remington 700 SPS bolts (to make them cycle smother) and have not had any rust yet, But I keep them well lubed/oiled with ballistal.
