Poll for Barrel Manufacture

This was 1st shots out of my Brux…280AI, factory Nosler 160gr Accubonds. Shot off a crappy Lyman bag and a small Tab Gear rear bag.
Rifle is a 2024 Manufactured Rem 700, squared action, bolt face and lugs. McMillan Game Scout stock, Timney Hunter trigger. Leupold VX5HD Firedot. Nothing else, nothing special etc.
100yds…1 shot, clean for 10 shots.
I’m a decent shot but not amazing, I might shoot 15-20x a year, and this rifle just astounded me.

You dont always have to have the best of the best for a rifle to shoot well. This is a budget build in every way.

20 year old Savage action, Criterion barrel etc… I put it together and Im no gunsmith.

I think Criterion barrels are very underrated.

I’ve had some good shilens. I also shoot muller works and they are a very nice barrel.

That list looks like 1990!! Krieger is my pick from the list but we are lucky to have many cut rifle barrel makers and they all seem to do a great job.

Krieger, Bartlein, Brux, CRB, K&G, Muller, and Proof all make great shooting barrels and I'd choose a cut rifle every time over a button rifle blank...
