Ponsness Warren

I inherited a Ponsness Warren Metallic II reloading press from my grandfather after his passing. With it came dies for 44, 45ACP 9mm 38 and 357. a RCBS powder drop and a few other accesories. This is 1 of 6 presses for brass he had, other than the 4 he had setup for shotshell. Needless to say a great deal of knowledge and expertise died with him.
I also inherited enough handloaded ammo to supply the 1st infantry division for a year, in every calibre you can imagine. Now, my question is, I have not been able to find much information on Ponsness Warren presses, and what I have been able to find mainly has to do with shotshell reloading. Anyone have experience with this press? It is heavy duty, and I mean heavy duty. Kinda a cross between progressive and single stage. Help?

I know that the Ponsness Warrens are the best progressive shotshell reloaders available. I'm sure that their progessive press for pistol shells will be high quality too. Sounds like your grandfather had taste in his reloading supplies.

Thank you for the information, and yes, I do believe my grandfather had taste. Can't wait to get this press set up and operating. Headed out the door before work today to empty some more brass!!

If you call the Ponsness people they are more than helpful. They will inform you of every update for the machine and recommend accessories. Ask them what parts are wear items (such as a wad guide on the shot shell reloader) and order a few of those items.

One thing you will want to buy is their press lube grease. It is neat stuff. I went from oil on my Bushy Varminter to the grease. Put a light coat of it on my bolts as well as the Beretta 391s.

Their S.T.O.S case lube is great also. The shooting community re-named it Slicker Than Owl S#!T years ago and the name stuck, no pun intended. I prefer it over Imperial anytime.

Best wishes, Bill
