Possible wolf spotted in Draper UT.

Here is a short clip my buddy recorded at 4;30 in the morning in a subdivision sitting on the top of south mountain in Draper Ut. He's thinking wolf sighting, what do you guys think? Sorry about the link, I can't figure out how to post the actual video.

After posting this video I have learned a little bit more about the possible wolf story. Draper PD has had other calls for wolf sightings recently, one being a white wolf and one gray with a collar, in the same area. The fish and game is also sending a pair of biologists to check the tracks, and look for other signs. Inconclusive for sure, but interesting none the less. Needless to say my buddy is dying to prove that he has video footage of a wolf just up the street from his home in Draper, especially since I told him it looked just like a dog lol

Just do like the other guys did in Utah just shoot it then you'll know? I'm sure the DWR would come and give you a positive ID.

Or maybe it's the stray neighborhood sled dog.

Great piece of video, let us know is you hear anymore from the authorities, I live here in Utah as well.

That's a tough call.

In all my years in Alaska, I never saw a wolf that white....except hanging in a furrier's. So it's an unusual color, more rare than black, in my experience.

That being said, the animal looks somewhat wolf-like, but not really. To me it appears more like a dog. One thing that always stands out in most wolf sightings, is they look like their head is a bit over-sized, compared to a dog. Like they are a little front-heavy, and longer in the legs.

It would be cool if it was a wolf, but I think dog. The proportions look wrong, and it doesn't look big enough. Wild wolves are really rangy.

Hard to tell from the vid but my first impression is its a domestic dog. It's a very short clip but it just doesn't move like a wild wolf and it doesn't appear lanky enough. I could be wrong but let's hope I'm not!

My initial gut says dog. I am no authority on it.
I did recently call in a wolf and at under 300 yds it was apparent something was different. At 200 yds it was obvious.

I told my friend (who took the video) that it looked more like a domestic dog. But the large breed dogs around here don't have a bushy straight tail like that. I went with him the next morning to look for tracks and discovered a dead deer right across the road from where it was going to cross. He swears it was a wolf though. If you put the screen to full the head does look abnormally large.

In the yard it walks and acts like a timid dog abut to get in trouble, but when it crosses the road and is walking up the hill it acts like it could be a wild animal has that walk head up just acts total different then the yard to me.
