The cost of 1000 primers from midway would be $76.46. If you bought 2k as the original poster did then the cost comes down to highway robbery of $53.20/k. You could try to buy more to spread the cost, but then you're contributing to the problem, right?- buying more than you actually need at the moment?
Anyone that would order only 1000-2000 off the internet is a fool. If I place an order, it is for 10,000+ at a time and try to buy powder at the same time. Buying more isnt contributing to the problem unless you are one of the people trying to sell them for more than you paid. When I start getting low, I watch and order again. There is a store here locally that has over 30,000 primers sitting on the shelf right now. Has had for the last couple weeks. Other stores are getting them also. Have found all components. If people dont go looking for things regularly then they are not going to get them.

I just bought an 8 lb bottle of Red Dot from them for $116
Easy to say that if you have what you need on hand. For the guy that has been waiting four months to try and put some loads together to shoot a bit, he is going to have to jump at this opportunity.
People should plan ahead if they want to shoot. It is not the first time this has happened. I have some friends that I told this would probably happen. Told them to buy what they needed six years ago and again last fall. They didnt listen and said they didnt need it right then. Why wait until you NEED them? Now they want me to sell them mine because they didnt listen. They are not doing much shooting right now. Those that want to load and shoot are finding what they will need and buying it. The items are there, you just need to do a little leg work.
I am buying now what I think I will need in 4-6+ months. Anyone that thinks things will get better in the next couple months or that this will not happen again had better wake up and get prepared. Why wait until you need something to buy it. If I was to wait until I ran out of something, I would not be shooting. Of course, a lot of people also wait until their fuel gauge on their vehicle is sitting on empty to fill up. If something happened and had to evacuate they would be complaining because they couldnt get any fuel all of a sudden also. People need to learn to prepare, even a little at a time.
