Powder clumping up around case mouth

I have reloaded about 200 rds of 22-250 cases and I noticed last night while using RE 15 that it was bunching up a lot around the case mouth. Is this common with this powder? The only other powder I have used before is Varget. I have read where moisture will do this, but no way was moisture a factor.

Was it sticking to your funnel too?
Was there any case lube in the case necks?

Rub a used dryer softener sheet around the inside of your funnel and see if that helps.

Case lube on inside of neck ?
I used Reloder 15 last year and didn't have that trouble.
Are you saying it just piles up and "bridges" the case mouth, or you have powder stuck around case mouth after the rest is in ?

Thanks guys for the replies. Jeff it wasn't sticking to the funnel. And I tumbled this brass for six hrs after I resized it.

mountain state I have powder stuck around case mouth after the rest is in.

I will try the dryer sheet. Rick

Rickyb,
Sounds like "static clinge" in the case mouth. I have used RE15 a good deal and sometimes I just have to brush the case necks. But that dryer sheet sounds like a great idea that should eliminate the problem.

you need to get the Lube out of the case! take the same case that it is sticking in and clean it then try dunping the powder in, Bet it dont stick!!!!

Yeah, mine do that too. I keep a pack of pipe cleaners on hand just for that reason. After sizing and wiping down my brass I take a pipe cleaner and after folding it in half I push it in each case and pull it out. Every now and then I fold the pipe cleaner for a clean area and keep on trucking. I can do 50 in less time that it took me to type this.

Thats what I do also, pretty fast and alot easier...

Sounds like static cling I get it sometimes. I rub a used dryer sheet inside the powder measure and also on the funnels it helps a ton! I cant see where it would be lube if you tumbled the cases for 6 hours after sizing them rp

+2 on that; when the brushes get gunky(sp?) I wipe them of with an old rag & it's GTG. Never had a problem with static charge, but have applied too much lube.
