Powder for 25-06???

Going to load some 75 Gr V-Max for the 25-06 and thinking about H4831. Anybody use this or have another you like better?

H4831SC is the powder of choice in a 25-06 with most bullets, you could also try 4064 with the lighter bullets.

When I had a 25-06 it was H4350 w/ 75Vmax that gave the best accuracy. Not sure on velocity.

I get great results with 117gn Sierra Game Kings with H4831SC. I like the H4831SC and H4350 because they grains are finer and dispense better. For the 75 gn vmax I would try the 4350 first and the 4831 second. Lighter bullets usually like a little faster powder.

IMR-4831 works great w/75g vmax out of my 25-06's. 3800fps and .5 MOA. IMR-4350 shoots just as good, but about 75-100fps slower.

Hard to beat IMR-4831 with the lighter bullets, and RE-22 with 100 gr. and up. H-4831 is great stuff, but you can't get enough in the case to get the speed up!

Yep, IMR or H 4831 will cover most all loads for the 25-06 that I have ever used. Small advantage to the IMR in my experiences.

The Cooper 26-06 target that came with my rifle used RL-22...I've stuck with it, with excellent results.
