It's going to hard to sit around a dirt tank for a couple hours to shoot 15 birds after coming back from Argentina, but I bet I shoot pretty good. My brother, dad, sister-in-law, and I got back from a 5 day hunt in Argentina. The weather was amazing, lows in the 30's and highs in the 70's. We dove hunted 9 times, shooting a total of 7,732 doves, a few native pigeons and several hundred parakeets. We were allowed to shoot parakeets, which were more common than our doves and the locals enjoyed eating. We also got in a two hour duck hunt and shot 9 different species. During the hunt, I shot 2,034 doves, averaging 54% shooting. It took a few hunts for me to get used to the guns and get over the excitement of seeing an endless flight of birds. My best night I shot 72%. Overall I averaged 2 doves a minute. We would only hunt for 2 hours in the mornings and 2 hours in the evenings. During a 2 hour shoot, we had no problem shooting 500 rounds. We easily could have shot a ton more, but the shell bill added up. Our best day we shot 2,400 birds in 4 hours. The birds were picked up by locals or the bird boys and given to several families. My sister-in-law is a photographer, so she did most of her shooting with a camera. We are planning a return trip in a couple years. The guide said we came at the wrong time of the year for dove hunting, it's better in September to November. But trust me, there were still plenty of birds.
