Prairie dog bait?

Hey, I was wondering if peanut butter is a good prairie dog bait? If not, what would you suggest?

Probably work.

Oats, grain, raw corn, carrot, apple slices would work too.

I'll try corn and oats. A guy today told me to use oats. But on some traps to experiment, I will fence the hole with a hole in the fence to put the trap in. Wish me luck, will post pictures. Thanks

Mixed oats, barley and corn, set a trap by a hole, and we got one! I had one set farther from a hole that did not catch any, so put them close to hole! Wont be in town until Monday, but I'll have them set from Monday to Wednesday hopefully, we'll get some more. Thanks for the help.

On trapperman, they didn't want me to say my method of dispatch, but they were killed. I will not relocate prairie dog, they are bubonic plague kings.

they sure stink if ya shoot em, tried some for bait, didn't do well, might have been location.

Unlike Tac...I have had good luck using them for bait. I buried them deep in a big dirt hole then packed dirt on them then set like a regular dirt hole. In your case I would do similar, just put the opening under the bait end of your cage. Might just work for you. Not sure of your dispatch method, but water works well if you know what I mean.
