Wow! Now that is a bunch of good looking iron. Thanks for posting them all up guys. I'm off to the local gun and shooting emporium tomorrow to fondle a few irons myself. Looking for this years "Most likely to be added to the arsenal" candidate. I can't seem to get enough irons. keep posting em up!
 
Well.....we don't have any p'dogs here, but I do whack whistlepigs with this rifle. 223AI, the pic is of a group I shot with it at 1000yds using 75Amax's and it was witnessed by a member of this site... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nice shooting there brdeano. Good looking rig too. Where abouts are you from? I have been running back and forth to Michigan working of late.

I went fondling some Remingtons today. VSF,VSSF,VSSFII. Nice rifles, but a little pricey. Have you ever messed around with a fast twist 22/250?
 
DC, I have an 1-8" custom 22-250. I mostly run 75Amax's through it, even after shooting them side by side, I still prefer my 1-8" 223AI to the 22-250 in most instances. I live in Swartz Creek, where have you been coming to here in MI?

I was just up to Clearfield looking over more guns than I can count. I am just about ready to do a build on a Savage mod 10 I have here. I am thinking a 9" twist 22/250 A.I. I'm not really looking for the 75gr or larger bullets. I just want to be able to hammer the 60gr into litle bug hole groups. You always have nice iron posted here. I am working in Constantine, and staying in Three Rivers. It is only a few miles north of Indiana at the Middleberry exit of the toll road.
 
How about that SuperSeal 110. We got bad directions to go to Lunkers from White Pidgeon last Wed. A feller at the plant we were working in, said to head east on 12 out of White Pidgeon. He was full of Owl crap. We went about 5 miles east of Bronson before turning around. I guess we were just a belch and a holler from Coldwater. We should hook up for a couple cold ones some time. I was supposed to head out there tomorrow, but got pushed back a day or three.
 
SKB2706-did you order your Shilen barrel right from the company or did you have to have someone make it for you. I'm interested in getting an Encore frame and then having a 6BR barrel made for it. How much did it cost you?

Yeah, Lunkers is the other direction, lol. I haven't been there in about 3-4 yrs now. I have some family in Edwardsburg and Lunkers is just down the road. Feel free to PM me.

I had it made up by MGM (Match Grade Machine)and had the chamber cut to the same dimensions as my sons factory .204 barrel. One chamber spec, one die set up and I can shoot the same ammo in both.

MGM uses Shilen blanks unless you request something else.

They ain't cheap.....about double the cost of a factory barrel. With scope mount, extra bolt springs and an extra extractor (I collect TC parts)it was $430.........

Mind sharing the dimensions of that table of yours in the pic? Specifically, the length and then the width at the front, the widest part of the mid section and the width of the back section that divides the left side from the right side? Looks like its an inch thick. Maybe 1 1/2 inch pipe. Anything you'd change on it?

35 inches at the widest part of the rear, before cutting corners to a 3 in. radius. Front is 29 in. before rounding corners to a 5 in. radius. Tail is 12 in. wide with 3 in. radius, 15 inches in length. Height is 34 1/2 inches, perfect for being upright enuff( on a baseball bucket seat) that hard kickers aren't bad. Most portable benches are so low, that you have to kinda hunch over, letting the boomers really pound ya. Top is 1 1/8 inch OSB, sanded and poly'ed. The only thing I would change is cutting the rifle slots to be more balanced as carry handles. They're a bit too far forward, but well out of the way when in use. I used pipe floor flanges first(on tapered shims) for the legs. Not solid enuff to suit me. Rebuilt it with angleiron/leg socket frame similar to the Stuckey benches. It is a ROCK now........ How did you attach the compartment underneath? Does it get in the way of the knees? Whats it made out of (the compartment)?
 
I attached it with angle corner brackets and drywall screws from the bottom. I didn't want any bolts or screws visible from the top, to me that looks crude. And I didn't want to go thru the effort of countersinkin' and plugging the top. The shelf cubby is well above the knees, as it is 1x6's with a 1/2 inch plywood bottom. Also my leg frame is attached with 1/4 inch by 1 inch lags from below for the same reason. I can pm you pics tomorrow night if you want.....Don
