Predator Calls for St. Charles

The Custom Callmakers Association show is this Friday and Saturday in St. Charles, Illinois at the Pheasant Run Resort. If any of you live near there, it is well worth the time to check out if you are into duck calls at all. I will be there on Thursday only, for open room trading/selling. Everyone opens the door to there room at the resort and sells from the room. Its a great way to meet folks and see some fantastic work! Should you decide to go, I will be wearing a Texas baseball cap, so please introduce yourself! My calls will be on display in room 5251.

I am entering a duck call and a predator call in the professional carved call category.

Here are a few pics of the predator call I will be entering in the compititon. I will have a dozen or so predator calls along for sale as well. I don't expect much in the way of sales, as this pretty much dominated by duck call guys. But I want to represent the great predator call makers out there too! Last year huntncarve had a call there as well. The show is held in conjunction with the Midwest Decoy Show, which is about 90% of the show. There are tons, and I mean tons, of decoys to be seen if you are interested in that.

The carved call is the one I will enter in the show. As the judges are all duck call guys, I don't have high hopes, but its more about showing your work than winning anyway. It is a great looking call, much better than my poor pictures show.

Thanks for looking!

Brian

Thank you Rick, that means a lot!

Larry, the competition is really good, so my goal is top five. The pictures of the duck call are terrible, it looks much better than that, it really does. I will post a picture of the winning call next week.

Thank you very much. I have a couple of guys who have already asked to see them in person before making up their minds on them, but I can get back to you if you like next week. The duck call is $400 and the distress call is $225.

I do most of my carving during the summer months, so I can always make one for you if you have something special in mind as well.

Thanks again - Brian

....................., sorry, just wiping the drool on my sleeve. Howard Harlan move over! There's another sheriff in town. Nice calls Brian!!

Anyone interested in seeing the kind of competition Brian's up against should check out the CCAA site at http://www.ccaacalls.org/links.html

I believe you will do very well in the Fancy Call competiton and I wish you much good luck. I'd surely hate to be one of the judges!

Just a thought, but how about a carved Crow call for next years competition?

Good Luck and Gods Speed
John

I hope you do well as that is some serious talent right there. I wish I had the cash cause I would say they are all sold right now. Way to go on pushing that bar WAY up there.
