Predator Hunting Beginner......Single shot Rifle OK?

Like the other person said, you can get a Stevens for about $299.00, MT no tax so $299.00 so that plus whatever your state tax would be and you cannot beat them My wife has a stevens 200 in 7mm.08 and my son a 243, i have a browning for deer/elk, a 204/17hmr and shotguns for predators. look for a stevens, i carry my wife and sons sometime, love em and they are cheap, or look for a used rifle till you can afford a new one. good luck
 
Thanks guys. I'm leaning towards a Stevens or possibly a Marlin XS7. Both seem to be in about the same price range and with good reviews for both, I don't think I can go wrong.
