Predator Masters LBL HUNT!

Any of you that can get the road and zone map online , blow it up to 100%. Study the road system fairly well before you come down. All of hte fords so far are good.

When it says a road may be impassible at certain times of year believe them!305 AND 324 might as well be closed.Jimmie

Reading the reg's about weapons, I'm a little confused /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif My question is ... can I use #4 buckshot in my 12 or 10ga?
And since it is in Feb. we can use our centerfire rifles & pistols. Right?
I was really planning on being there, but not sure as some $ trouble has come up. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif Coyote Kate is really wanting me to go, but? I even took a vacation day on the 2nd, a national holiday for me anyways. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Hope to see ya all. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

BB is the largest shot size legal in the Ky portion and number 4 shot is the largest legal in Tenn. Not buck of any kind allowed at all in either state.

All centerfire is legal during the month of February.

And Groundhog day is a national holiday eh! Not a bad idea, it's as good an excuse as some of the others they have come up with /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Jimmie

LEGAL WEAPONS FOR SMALL GAME HUNTING
Shotguns, rimfire rifles, rimfire handguns, muzzleloaders, and archery equipment according to state regulations with the following exceptions: the use of crossbows, in KY, centerfire rifles, centerfire handguns, and shotguns loaded with slugs or shot (lead and steel) larger than BB in the Kentucky portion or larger than No. 4 in the Tennessee portion is prohibited (except for coyotes in February-see regulations). Broadheads may not be used for small game hunting except for specified game during the deer archery season.

Man, is that poorly writen or what?

I sure am glad we got a guy like you jimmy to figure all this stuff out.
So just to make sure Dead Coyote would not be legal?

Thanks Jimmie. Don't ya think I should have a paid holiday for something I enjoy so much. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

BHauser: That's what I was thinking.
Regulations like that are like a candle just under my chair seat. They really burn my ... er... rump! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif
I thank God I live in Ohio where "KILL'EM" is the ruling on coyotes. They must have realized that the coyotes were killing deer w/o buying tags. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Same "KILL'EM" rule here in MO, except for the no light at night restriction.

I just ordered Federal 12 gauge 3" Copper Plated Lead BB from Dirt Cheap. That should do the trick. I am a little worried about how it will pattern, I'll check that before I leave.

See Ya There

Any dead coyote load larger than bb would be illegal.

And your federal bb loads should do just fine. I shoot the 2 3/4 inch load with standard full choke and get a good pattern to fifty yards. And it is still big enough to bust the hard charger at 25.

And I happen to agree with you on the crazy laws we have here as well. As long as there is a small game season of some kind going on ,this is what we are stuck with.

I keep hoping to get some changes on the centerfire up there but don't look for it to happen unless the deer numbers continue to drop in the LBL.Jimmie

Best guess right at this moment is 30 + /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif That is 29 definate sign up's and the others we know are coming for sure. Jimmie

anybody coming to the LBL hunt can pm me with any questions, and I will be glad to help. I also will probably have some private land for a few guys to use. I am only 15 mins to LBL and hunted and trapped it since 1978.
