Price check from you Cooper fans

I found a Cooper M21 with nice AA wood in a caliber I love that best I can tell is like new. It has Leupold bases but looking at them I am not sure rings were ever installed and the gun appears to be unfired. The price tag was 1399.00 so if I were to have paid say 1198.00 with a set of rings out the door is that good? It was in the original box inside the original shipping carton as well. Not that I would make some rash purchase without checking first.

Coopers come factory with the Leupold bases . If the wood is nice and what you want I'd say get it. I'm told Coopers AA and AA+ is not as good as it used to be. $1,200 -1,1400 is not uncommon for good used with nice wood.
 
I would not say the wood was great but it was eye-catching and yes it came home with me.

My new 6X45mm.
I cannot get a good picture with the flash but without it they look yellow.

It was definitely scoped once with a 36X Leupold and was indoor range fired at ~46 yards. If new it would have come with a target showing the results of the range function test because all new Coopers come with the target in the box.

I've not had a new one, but got all the factory stuff with mine.

Do they use the bases that come with the gun or do they use diff ones ? My guess would be a set of QD's for function test.

No rings with them, just bases.
Most have Leupolds, but some have Talleys.

It came with the traditional one hole target and the warranty card.

Yep my first one.

I have a 4.5-14 Zeiss to put on it but it will have to wait as I am flying to Reno and on to Lake Tahoe for some cooler weather tomorrow.
 
It looks like a standard Varminter model. If the rifle is in as new condition and you bought it for $1200 OTD then you got a good deal. You did not steal it. But you got a good deal.

I would have paid that if it was a particular model I was shopping for. Tom.

I ment to say do they use the bases that come with the rifle for testing,or do they used a diff set and put new ones on the rifle .

For Tim, I'm not sure, but I believe you get the bases they test with.

Yours is indeed a Varminter model. You'll like it, and Cooper is good to deal with.

They've nabbed me several times and each one shoots extremely well. Just remember that the target is shot at 46 yards the first time you expect to get one hole results consistently at 100 yards.
