What would be a fair price to pay for a Savage 110 left handed 243 built in 1959 almost new condition?
How well were they built back then?

I'll stick my neck out and say that since the gun probably doesn't have collectors value and since the new rifles are so much better and so inexpensive that you're probably looking at something like $100-$200.

You can find nearly new Savages that aren't their top of the line rifles for around $200 if you look for a bargain.

Savage makes a great rifle but it get's no respect and resale value isn't good.

Being a left hand gun it is worth about $15 more than the right hand guns, and if its in top condition $225 to $250 if your buying...but if your selling...you will be lucky to get $200...They are among some of the most accurate guns out there, but "Blind" box, blonde stock and....welll that adds up to $200 to $250....If your going to keep it...I would pay $225...if it is a stepping stone gun to a later upgrade...don't pay more than $190, or your going to loose money....IMHO

Thanks for the replies
The gunsmith that is selling the gun was telling me that the guns were built better back in 1959 with and checkering and all. This gun is in new condition it is worth $500 dollars. I thought the price may be a little high.

Incredible... This gunsmith is a piece of work... No doubt... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif
