Prices of .22LR ammo WOW!!!

It's fairly simple. Stop paying the inflated prices and the price will go down. As long as folks pony up for the inflated prices, the scalpers will keep jacking it up. I've know of more than one shop hiding 22LR ammo under the counter so they can put five to ten boxes on the shelf at a time at double the normal price.

I picked up a 525 bulk box of Remington Goldens, for $23(most
I have paid for a bulk box), at the local Farm&Fleet store.
None on the shelf, but I mentioned I was looking for .22
ammo, and a friend that works there, said, "Follow me". We
went to the supply room door, and he said, "Wait here". He
returned with a bulk box of Remington ammo. I guess one just
has to know someone.

He hooked me up with a couple of 100 round boxes of CCI
Mini-Mags, a few weeks prior, but those were on the shelf,
out in the store. He asked me if I wanted any more...I was
good with two sticks...No need to be an abusive hoarder...Just
a well prepared hoarder.

Anyway, I have replenished
my stocks to over 5k rounds, so the grandson can blaze
away, and I have a good stock of bird feeder varmint ammo.
I would like to see the manufacturers catch up...There is a
bunch of money waiting for more stock...And I want to see
the scalpers eat their stock.

Just saw last night a LGS had all their 17HMR at $21.99. I laughed and told him I can shoot my 223rem cheaper than that. I'll just wait for it to come back down again.

Are you seeing the CCI 20gr. Gamepoints there? The don't seem to exist here but there are 17gr V-maxes everywhere.

I agree, there is no point paying for the hype, but at some point I will need to buy some. How else am I suppose to properly raise an eleven year old boy

A good pellet gun works. And there are some darn nice ones these days.

people cut their own throats all the time.If everyone quit buying amo for thirty days the prices would plumet. But sadly people are stupid.

I blame it on all the zombie movies and advertising of "are you ready for a zombie epocolipse" crap so every idiot has ran out in the last couple of years and bought tons of 22 versions of AR knock offs and are preparing for WW3. I [beeep] me off that I can't walk into a store a pick up a few rounds to teach my god children the proper ethics of gun safety. Everyone is out . I've switched to my nitro piston 22 cal walther talon pellet rifle from 22 rifle out on my trap lines lately being an ammo shortage. Pretty soon pellets will be next since they also can be had for a hop, skip , and a jump so the average Joe can afford to hoard them as well.

Yeah it just seems they're all seeing how far we'll go with this stuff. As most have said, its just depressing…..On so many levels

The really bad part is that you could have bought it and still made money. They are selling a brick of 525 for $100 on gunbroker. I know it will come down, just like AR parts did, but it makes me uncomfortable shooting a very expensive commodity.
