Primos Alpha Dogg

I was just wondering if anybody has seen the new Primos Alpha Dogg caller. It looks like it would be pretty cool and also have lots of volume, and the price is right.

I have seen a couple ads about all the new Primos E-calls in the new AllPredatorCalls.com catalog I just rec'd.
But I have no 1st hand experience with any of them.

I did notice that the ad mentioned that sounds could be chosen from a "sound library". But, it doesn't say whether that means the "extra" sounds you can add to the memory, or if it means you can choose your original sounds, just like w/FoxPro.
I also don't know where this "sound library" is located[?].

I went to Primos' site, & NONE of the new E-calls are even listed anywhere yet!!! Somebody dropped the ball!!!

I went to Randy Anderson site, they now have turbo dogg available.
What I hear is it comes with 36 sounds pre-loaded. 4 pre loaded
calling situations-i.e.--howls then rabbit distress after couple minutes.
Can have up to 200 sounds, but noone knew how to load them up or where they come from. Still trying to get more info.
Most sounds are from Randy and primos staff.
Was real loud over the phone, the girl said she couldn't even get past half way point on volume.

I still see no standard list of calls that are one them.
Natchez like Cabelas has them listed also...but none in stock though.

After my experience with their Power Dog I wouldn't recommend a Primos anything. Cheaply made, badly designed and pretty much disposable in my opinion.

I just saw that the local Wallysworld has the Primos Turbo Dog in stock @ $149.
They have a wall of predator calls from hand styles & electronics ones from Johhny Stewart, the Flextone EH1 as of this week. Prices are less than the regular sports stores.
I took the Primos out of the box and played with it for a few minutes. Overall impressions is that is seems good, speaker tilts up/down. Hand remote fits my hand real good. USB cord in box for dowmloading sounds, instuctions are good.
I did not read into what or where you can load sounds from, but looks simple to do from scanning the pages.
What I did not like was the battery doors are snap on style & very thin. I can see them getting broke/craacked in sub zero calling or lost. Remote takes 3 AAs, base takes 8AAs.
Still NO SOUNDS LISTED in the instuctions or on the box, all are in the remote like the Flextone ER1, but at least Flextone lists what calls are on their units.

AP,
Are the sounds real animals, mouthcalls, or a mix of both? I see it says "progessional" sounds, but nowhere about them being real animals. Thanks.

^^^^ Correct, 8 in the battery tray & 3 in the remote.

That'll work.

Well all, I bought a Primos Turbo Dogg and she works like crazy! Great loud (if needed) sounds that are realistic and has a great variety of predator calls. Allows you to set up your own hunting sequences. I combined this with a Mojo Critter and I sat at three locations and now there are three less coyotes running the night. Great too for calling in crows and magpies if you want some shotgun action too. Primos says they will have more available downloads early December but what is there is more than enough to get you started. I sat for a few hours in -10 degrees celcius with no issues, still got over 90% battery life. Only flaw I can honestly tell you is that it is line of sight up to about 60 yards after that the call is intermittent. I find it works great if I put it in a tree or was elevated above it. Not the end all be all call but for the price it is a good call and money well spent.

I've got one,
Only used it on 5 stands so far ,got fur on 3 of them.lots of volume if you need it.Remote was tested out to about 150 yds. works great, it's a little heavier than most callers but it's really not an issue.
unit is very easy to add new sounds to.
Getting colder here in Nebraska so we will find out soon how it performs in that.
