Primos Alphadog vs other e callers

Anybody tried out the new Primos AlphaDog e-caller. I saw it on cabelas for about $300. It has built in fold out legs and two fold out speakers with one main speaker in the middle. It looks to be a pretty cool and quality e caller but i was wonderring how it compares to others like foxpro?

Never heard it but it looks like it stacks up feature wise with Foxpro units. The only obvious feature it lacks is a Foxbang type of deal. Primos makes quality products so I'd guess build quality and electronics are done right. Sounds quality is probably also top notch. Honestly if I was in the market for a e-call I'd be giving this Primos deal a hard look.

Heres a picture of what it looks like, pretty cool i think, but guess that doesnt matter if it isnt functional.

Don't know.. If a coyote sees that thing up on it's legs and with it's speakers flared out like that making screaming sounds, he might run the other way to avoid being eaten!

Seriously- It may be a good caller, time will tell.

I first seen a picture of that unit in the Allpredatorcalls catalog. Impressive looking unit. I like the idea of the built in legs/speaker covers. I'd be interested in it's durability of bouncing around in a hunting rig for a few months. Time will tell on this unit, but it sure is cool looking. I'd be interested in how much that sucker weighs, as well.

At Natches SS Alpha dogg for $219, Cabelas is way over priced to max MSRP!
I have already gone through 2 Turbo Dogg units...IMO CRud!, The sounds are really very good and the unit is very LOUD & its easy to upload sounds to it.....BUT the remotes will not work past 50' at the most out here, looses signal consistantly, remote screen freezes, have to pull battery to get it going again. This has happened to the 3 a pal & I have bought & returned in the last 4 weeks since they hit the market.

I have been dealing with Primos on all these issues also and linked my actual field uses right here to them.
They are sending my pal a new remote since his remote fails to connect to the base unit when its past 20' from him.
They agree that is not acceptable at all.
Now we have tested them on flat streets at home and get 150 yds easy, but as soon as we are out in the fields around here....it Fails/looses signal randomly & when you are trying to change sounds or sets.
It needs an antenna IMO at least on the base unit.
I returned the one I bought to wallysworld and got new one, then returned that one today for the same problems.
The actual screen washes out in the sunlight just so you know also making it very hard to read when you are trying to change sounds or scrooling for sounds. Your reflection from it is like a mirror.

They work perfect at home when testing & setting up MY HUNTS I have to add.
Primos has software upgrades for them both online.
They have issues with new sound names, there is a temporary fix for both those units on thier site until they get an actaul software update for them.
They are having issues with both units, & at least they are trying to get software updates for the problems as they come up.
I think I will wait untill they are done trying to fix them after they marketed them instead of making them good in the 1st place.
If you buy one make sure you can return it with no issues as most online stores only have a 15 day return time & you may pay to "restock" it.

BOB...its happening in every area I have taken it to use, wide open ranchlands, hills, gullies, the only spot it stays connected is if I am above it and its set up below with no grasses/shrubs in the way.
The extreme dimension call my pal has does not have that issue and the Flextone ER1 & Furys I had did not have those issues in the same spots.
Primos is trying to figure it out though so I give them credit for that. I like the unit for sounds, volume ease of use and light weight, but that can't cover the issues out here.
My pal is keeping his hoping primos will fix the issues I do not have the time to wait. I tried again & just stick with mouth calls...never resistance from them.....:)

That sounds like alot of hassle to get a coyote called up. I would have lost my patience and kicked the caller to the curb and grabbed my handcalls. A call is a tool and tools must work. If they don't they are nothing but a pain, taking away from the enjoyment of the hunt.
