Recently I purchased a Hot Dog Howler. I have watched Randy's tapes and listened to his CD, and practised a lot, but I just can't seem to get this call to sound like a howling coyote. I find the call too raspy and growly, as opposed to Randy's calling which sounds much purer, more like a siren. Do you fellas have any experience with this call? What am I doing wrong? I have tried different pressures with both teeth and lips. In the CD, it is recommended to be close to C and D on the reed, but I find when I am near here, the sound is way too deep. This call was not cheap, and is not easy to use, I am seriously thinking about sending it back. Any comments?
