Primos Lil Dog

I am thinking about getting into coyote hunting. Right now i was planning on getting a hand call or two and then next year if i decide that i like the sport enough i would buy an Electronic caller. I was looking at the Primos Lil Dog out of cabelas, which comes with a Randy Anderson movie on how to use the call. Does anyone have any expierence with this call? And how hard are open reeds to learn for a beginner? Thanks
 
The Lil Dog is a productive call set that is easy to learn with good sounds. The video is a good aid, just keep practicing along with it til you drive someone crazy.
 
Open reeds aren't really "Hard" to use, they just require practice. I use the lil dogs, they are great short and longer range distress calls. Once you get good with an open reed howler thats all you will need to carry. I don't use any distres calls at all, only howlers. so get them, watch the movie and practice practice practice. I must tell you something about coyote hunting though, you call one dog in and put it down your hooked, You have been warned /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Just anyother thought for you, go check out the custom call makers forum and check out what they have to offer, some that i have looked at are extremally friend and eager to help you out.

I hunt some with coyote_sniper73, he uses it and likes it really well.
