Primos Power Dogg is on the way.

I ordered and should shortly receive a Primos Power Dogg from Allpredatorcalls.com. Poor time of the year to get one but I wanted to get it early in case they are difficult to find later in the year. I've tested a couple of other fairly inexpensive remote/wireless units and have not been happy with them. I'll give the Power Dogg a test but if it isn't any more dependable than some of the others I guess I'll move up to one of the much more expensive units. Still have my old Dennis Kirk cassette player to fall back on which I might add has never failed me. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yes please do let us know how the unit performs. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

I got my foxpro unit's in the off season, didn't stop me from trying them out, of course I just have to walk outside to do that. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'd try it out as soon as you get it. Take your camera instead of your rifle, take some pictures and share them with us.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

My problem is not whether it will bring in coyotes... I'm sure it will. It is how dependable it will be. I had another brand of electronic caller sent to me and I've had nothing but trouble with it from day one... and I can only push the reset button so many times and follow their instuctions so many times before I have to say ENOUGH is ENOUGH. This thing isn't working properly. What attracted me to the Power Dogg is that there are no cards, or inserts, or fancy progamming...just basic calls. I mean really, I've been calling coyotes for years with six basic calls and that's all I've ever needed.

I've had mine for a couple weeks now and have been working it as time allows. Basic reliability testing is going well with no problems noted. Range of the remote is as advertised, if not a little further.

I did have one issue with the unit itself as a portion of the gasket underneath the "cone" had dislodged at some point. I loosened a couple screws and was able to re-insert the gasket with no issues since.

I haven't had time to hunt with the unit yet but I'll share what I find when the time comes.

I received mine and initial tests seem good.. I am impressed with the construction of the unit and compact nature of the design. Mine worked first time out with no problems which is an exception to other units I've tested. I'll know much more after this weekend.

Gentlemen, how is the power dogg treatin ya since you last posted up? I can't find a JS Preymaster 4 so I may spring for the Primo. I'm tired of the wired PM 3 and want wireless.

I read elsewhere that the 100 yard range is grossly exaggerated, that in reality it's more like 30 yards in typical conditions.

How is the volume?

I've heard nothing but good things as far as construction so no worries there. Just concerned about the remote range and volume.

Thanks!

Anyone else besides RGraff going to post on the range of the remote? I hope to hear it works as advertised, or at least close to it. It's got to be better than the Johnny Stewart - Predator Attractor PT-1. Supposed to have 50yd range........well it's more like 50ft. But for no more than it cost what should I expect /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I would beg to differ with those who claim the advertised range is exaggerated. I tested mine in the environs I hunt (mountainous, timber, big verticals, etc.) and, as I mentioned earlier, I was consistantly able to control the unit up to and including 100 yds.. Control became spotty at something beyond 110 yds in virtually all the scenarios I placed it in.

The only time I experienced a loss of control was when the unit and I lost line of sight over a rise or around a bend. Timber and big rocks did not seem to affect function.

Mayhaps I got a extra good one. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

I have had mine for about a week. 2 stands/2 dead yotes. the furthest I have put it out is about 50yds, and had no problems. The great thing about it is its so simple my 5yo daughter has no problem running it.

RGraff and frunkus, are you setting the caller up on a stump or hanging it from a tree limb, ect.? Most of my stands would put the caller in 1'-2' grass/field stubble. Thanks. Billy.
