Does anyone konw if the Primo's Raspy Coaxer is a good call. It can make two different sound, a rodent squeal and a rabbit distress sound. I've heard that it's pretty easy to use, is it? Thanks!!!
I have one and use it on occasion, Ive called in a red fox using just the squeaker, and Ive called in coyote using the raspy squall. It's nice to be able to switch between the squall and then "squeak" some to,,, it kinda mixes things up a bit.
I got one that I use some. It works well, it has called several criters! I did put a piece of elc tape over the sqweaker voice. Seemed to make it sound more real. I lip sqweak for close work.
Hi all,
I believe I must have tried about 95% of all of the mouth calls ever made and by far my favorite; the one I use for 99% of my distress sounds is a raspy coaxer. I think they have a great sound and just the right amount of back pressure. I also block up the mouse squeaker. In addition, the shape of the barrell makes it easy for me to kind of alter the tone and tenor.
Hunter07 - Primos calls are underated. I have a Raspy coaxer that I use once in a while if I need a really loud call. Called a nice 'yote last fall.
If you want an easy to use reliable call check out the primos Regulator 10 (if they still make them.) Its one of my all time favorites, and it makes sounds from a high pitched howl to a jack rabbit raspy sound, right up to the classic cottontail in distress with only a little practice.
