Problem with Winchester SXP ejecting 3 inch rounds

Just bought this gun 2 days before christmas, and it is chambered for 2 3/4 or 3 inch. I shot 4 3 inch rounds out of it and none of them would eject, like shell was too long to eject. I had to pull them out with my finger. Anybody else ever had the problem?

Try another brand of ammo. As unlikely as it seems, sometimes it is as simple as that. You would think 3" is 3" and if it jammed with one it would jam with another, but that is not always the case. I've seen shotguns completely puke with one brand of shell and run completely reliably with a different brand of ammo. If it chokes with several different brands of 3” ammo, then you know you have a gun problem.

along with tring different shells, I always clean my brand new guns. The assembly lube they use can cause issues

I don't know what shells you are running, but I had 2 shotguns that absolutely would not digest Fiochi steel shot. The one was a Benelli M1 Super 90 (only times it ever malfunctioned), and the other was a Remington 870 (same ammo) I would have to bang the butt on the ground to eject the fired shell.

I'd try some different shells and report back.

I took that case of steel back to where I bought it, we walked out the back door of gunshop, I showed them on my 2 guns and they gave me a new case of shells (same shells), and I never had another issue.

thanks for the replies guys just got back on. I bought Hornady 2 3/4 inch to try out..If they pattern well Ill stick with them. This gun had one [beeep] of a recoil with the 3 inch shells..It is alot lighter than my 870 was

i had the same problem with my gun. i took the bolt out cleaned it really good thinking that this would solve my problem but it did not. i got to thinking that maybe it just needed broken in. i shot 50 rounds of 2 3/4 out of it cleaned it really good then shot some 3in and never had a problem again. i didnt think this would work since everything seemed pretty well lubed and appeared to move freely but it did the trick in the end.
