I bought a couple boxes of 100gr Winchester power max bonded(red box with deer skull) for my R25 .243. I shot 2 5rd groups both under 1.5in, a little sloppy compared to federal 85gr serria gamekings. However, its $11 a box cheaper than feds.
Anyways here is the problem!
I went hunting with the new ammo. Loaded the mag, racked the bolt, and went hunting. Did not see a thing!
When I tried to unload the gun, the bolt was stuck. With SAFETY in mind, I was able to get the bolt open and it was not easy. When I finally got it opened the case came out scattering powder everywhere but no bullet. I took the rifle apart and used a cleaning rod to push the bullet out.
I loaded a mag up with Remington ammo and it manually cycled fine. I then loaded another Winchester power max and it got stuck.
Has anyone else had problems with the power max in their AR?
