While it's not in the "class" of the Dillon, I've used a Lee 1000 for about 15+ years to load a bunch of pistol ammunition when I was shooting a lot of handgun competitions...There is no telling how many thousands of rounds I've loaded on mine, but at the time, I couldn't afford the Dillons that were on the market...Mine is still set up on the loading bench and in use...
If you are only planning to load pistol cartridges, for semi-auto pistols and unless you are planning to shoot in the neighborhood of 1000 rounds a week (I used to shoot about that much in practice a couple of weeks before a match), a Lee 1000 will work well and long...It allows raseonably quick change from one caliber to another (I load 9mm, .40s, and 10mms)..
IMHO, Dillon produces the better loading device, and they have some that are near commercial set ups,, and that are good if you have the money and lack of time to spend on reloading...They are the "Cadillacs" of the reloading presses... But I drive a Chevy...
