Progressive reloading press

While it's not in the "class" of the Dillon, I've used a Lee 1000 for about 15+ years to load a bunch of pistol ammunition when I was shooting a lot of handgun competitions...There is no telling how many thousands of rounds I've loaded on mine, but at the time, I couldn't afford the Dillons that were on the market...Mine is still set up on the loading bench and in use...

If you are only planning to load pistol cartridges, for semi-auto pistols and unless you are planning to shoot in the neighborhood of 1000 rounds a week (I used to shoot about that much in practice a couple of weeks before a match), a Lee 1000 will work well and long...It allows raseonably quick change from one caliber to another (I load 9mm, .40s, and 10mms)..

IMHO, Dillon produces the better loading device, and they have some that are near commercial set ups,, and that are good if you have the money and lack of time to spend on reloading...They are the "Cadillacs" of the reloading presses... But I drive a Chevy...

Try this test....

Run any of your other presses over with a bulldozer to where it is smashed to pieces.

Call the manufacturer and tell them of your problem and see which manufacturer has a new press at your doorstep first...

Dillon, simply the best.

I have dropped my press and told them such: FIXED, NO COST
I have LOST parts during a move: REPLACED, NO COST

oh did I mention this was for the LIFETIME of the PRESS, not the owner.

From the Dillon Website:
"No warranty cards, registration or serial numbers are necessary. Whether you are the first owner, or the seventeenth, all our hobby-level reloading machines have a lifetime warranty. If you break, damage or wear out anything on them, it will be fixed or replaced – whatever is necessary to restore the machine to normal operating condition."

I have two dillon 1050's and two 550s. The only rifle loads I do are for my 223 AR's on the 1050. Acceptable accuracy, but not as good as what I roll out of the single stage presses. For pistol, I can't see anything that will run with the super 1050 that a normal human can afford. I have a hollywood engineering turret press with 12 stations, kinda nice for loading multiple calibers, no resetting of dies. Good ammo with very little runout.

Dillon and Hornady are both top notch. Both have excellent warranties. Each is slightly better than the other in some small ways.

I have no exp with the others listed to give any input.

If you do your part both the Dillon or the LNL will do theirs with great results.

I just purchased a used 550B from flebay about a month ago. had a few plastic parts that are worn some so today I called Dillon to price them and order them. I talked to Lee I told him about the parts and how I obtained it and I was anal so I wanted to replace them along with the plastic powder hopper because it is cruddy. Lee said I should see them on my door step next week I said wait Lee you want my credit card number and he said NO wouldn't even let me cover the shipping.
what a outfit
