Can't wait 'till Oct rolls around so I can try my new toy on some predators (I process and sell my hides).

Started building my .223 at the end of April and have to say, it is shooting mighty fine! Check these 100 yard groups out. Need to adjust vertically a little bit but not too bad for second time out. Want to try some 60 gr V-Max next..

Nice locking rig and accurate too!
Its a good feeling of satisfaction when you know that you put it together and its a nice looking rifle and shooter. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

You are going to be better off waiting till Dec, Jan, or Feb if you want prime pelts. In Oct, they are still a bit thin in the fur.

No offense, I'll take a late Oct northern NM high-country coyote over a matted/rubbed Feb hide any day. Besides, that's the longest I can wait, anyhow.

The barrel ran me $200 + $50 (for the Rhino coat)= $250 total. I bought it from J & T Distributing (jtdistributing.com). They are run by the same folks that build & sell DoubleStar AR's. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from them again.
