Joel Blakeslee was the original fella that created the "Nevada Style Stretch", he was just trying different things to set his cats apart from the rest. It took hold, and most all of the western buyers expect that from a cat. The Fallon sale is one of the best places to see awesome cats put up perfectly.

Agree with the others on here who also put up cats this way.

As stated once before this is usually referred to as the "Nevada Stretch".

It is becoming the standard for all cats. This stretch displays the back and front legs best as they also have pretty spots on them as well.

Borax is also the the way to go versus salt on the raw hide. Plus dry washing the fur is the best way to absorb any oils or dirt that may be left in the fur. It also brightens the white on the bellies and makes for a fluffy and great looking finished pelt.

But if using borax you should be blowing it dust out of the fur before selling.

I have talked to some guys who actually don't like this method being taught.

I say if you are not putting up your cats this way, you are leaving money out of your hands and its going to the guys who are using this method.

According to Joel, he is NOT the first to stretch a cat this way, just the first in NV
