CJ came into our lives 10yrs ago and became an official member of our family at almost 5 years old. Even with his brothers before him, I never forced my boys into hunting. I just always told them that this is what Daddy likes to do and they’re welcome to join me anytime they want.
Here recently CJ’s interest has sparked! He went out one night with me and was the scanner while I was on the gun. We didn’t see any pigs but saw plenty of deer.
This evening he asked to go turkey hunting with me and he was my camera man. We had one come in but just not close enough. Heard a couple other birds but no kill. We had a blast!!
On the way out, a camera went off with a pig on it! We pulled into another gate and drove within a few hundred yards of the bait pile. I really surprised him when we got the tripod set up for him and not me!
We made the stalk in and got within 100yds and I was afraid to try and get any closer. I found the “clearest” lane for him and he got on the gun while I got on the scanner. We had enough time I could hit record on the scope and the scanner…
