Pulsar Firmware Update 4.0 Image Detail Boost

Using the Stream Vision application, connecting the Samsung mobile phone in wi-fi to the thermal device, today I was able to download and install the new Firmware 4.0 on my Pulsar Accolade XP50 LRF. Well, dear American night hunter friends, I must tell you that the result has been truly amazing. The details of the images are greatly improved and more precise. In addition, the new observation mode, Image Detail Boost, made it much easier to focus on the target, (which before was difficult and represented the only defect of this exceptional thermal binoculars). You can install this new Firmware on all top of the range thermal devices, with 640x480 pixel sensor, of the XP50 series (Helion, Trail, Thermion). It is to be believed that Pulsar (Lithuanian) used military-derived software, as did Dedal (Russian) in the design of its prestigious and expensive thermal riflescopes. You can see the description of this Firmware on this link:

.. and you can see the demo on this video...

Read there are issues after downloading this. My friend did it to both his XP50 and Helion XP28 and the bluetooth now does not work.

We are having issues with the video not recording after the update. You hit the record button and the counter stays at 000.
The recoil activated recording isn't working either.

The Image Detail Boost function can be activated or deactivated manually by selecting ON or OFF. Now I try to attach some demonstration photos below. I advise you to activate the Image Detail Boost function for a short time, just to see details of the target you want to frame. In fact, I observed that, in the ON position, the device heats up more. The 640x480 pixel high resolution microbolometric sensor is probably very stressed, so it is better to try to preserve it. The distance of the antennas positioned above the roof of the house is approximately 290 yards. The photos were taken in total darkness at 11.50 pm. I leave you all the comments......

Remember that ....
"...if after the installation of the new Firmware 4.0 there were problems, it is better to enter the settings menu, reset everything and return to the initial factory conditions. This does not uninstall the Image Detail Boost option, but everything else works much better...."

Ernest49, do you have any confirmation from the company that using the enhanced image will decrease the life of the microbolometric sensor?

Sir,the third image is phenomenal,I just got the XM 50 and it's identical as far as images,I'm wondering if I need the update,I know nothing about the unit yet.

If you have a mobile phone with Android operating system: 1) Download the Stream Vision App from the Play Store. 2) Turn on the Thermion XM50. 3) In the Thermion menu, put the Wi-Fi selection on "on". 4) Turn on the cell phone wi-fi. 5) Open Stream Vision and connect with the Thermion (perhaps the password for defoult is 12345678). 6) Touch the first icon at the bottom left where "My devices" is written. 7) Your device appears with the serial number on the right. 8) Touch the rectangle where it says "CHECK FOR UPDATE". Of course, the mobile phone must be simultaneously connected to the Thermion with wi-fi and internet in data connection mode. If the device firmware is already updated to the latest version, the message "is already updated" appears. If not, download the latest version of the Firmware which will automatically be installed in the Thermion XM50. However, I advise you that the Firmware 4.0 that activates the new Image Detail Boost function is only downloadable on all Pulsar XP series.

As for the 640x480 sensor of the XP series, I have not heard any news of a shorter duration with the continuous use of the Image Detail Boost function. I have only observed that the device heats up more and that the battery lasts less. So, just for prudence, I would avoid leaving the device on for a long time with the Image Detail Boost function active.

Hello Kirsch, have you installed the new Firmware 4.0 on your Pulsar Helion XP38 scanner? If yes, how do you find it? Can you show us some comparative video between Image Detail Boost on and off? In the on position, have you also observed that the device heats up a little more and the battery lasts a little less? Do you think the 640x480 sensor is under stress and can last less?
