Pulsar XD50A- problem, need help!

Sellmark sent me shipping notification on Friday afternoon. FedEx is scheduled for delivery on Wednesday. It was in Barrington, NJ last night.

That is under a two week turnaround including two weekends. Had I shipped it early in the week, I might have gotten it the following week. In any event, I continue to be impressed by Sellmark's CS.

Glad you are having good luck. Flir CS sucks 17 working days so far. Not good at answering e-mails or phone calls.

RETRACTION Got my scope today. Did not even know they sent it out. No e-mail, phone call, no tracking number.

Sellmark / Sightmark (Photon digital) recently sent me a replacement lens cap at no charge, got it to me in less than a week after I requested one. I had lost / misplaced the little center piece that punches out of the cover so they sent a whole new lens cap free of charge.

FedEx delivered scope at 2 P.M. I mounted it and got it sighted in about dark.

Preliminary report--Scope is clear and image is sharper than the 50A. Native mag is nice at 2.8. Crosshairs are a lot finer than what I was used to on the 50A. I'm not sure I can use the German post that I liked so well on the 50A. Not having the sepia color is something that will take some getting used to. I recorded a couple of shots and the recording isn't as good as the image through the scope.

I did notice that the crosshairs in the PIP don't appear to be in the same place on the target as they are in the main screen. I'll have to shoot some more to get that figured out.

Windage was dead on out of the box and remains at 0. Elevation needed 13 clicks to zero one inch high at 100 yds.

I mailed the 50A in on Thursday Oct. 11 and got the new one back today 12 days later. Sellmark's CS continues to impress.

Sellmark's CS continues to impress. if you have problems with the pip image not corresponding with the full image, go into the menu and shut the pip off then back on. It should fix it. For some reason on my profile #1 the pip crosshairs land low in the view and i cannot correct it. Profile 2 is very close to being dead on but still off a little. And Profile 3 on mine is dead nuts on perfect. So i use number 3 the most. Mine is an Apex XQ38.

Thanks Kevin, I'll try going to profile #3 and see if it does the same on mine. Could you tell if the scope actually shoots to a different place from wide view to PIP or is it some type of optical illusion?

Personally on mine it was shooting in two different places on profile 1 and 2. But profile 3 landed perfect.

I also noticed it was really off if you switched profiles with the pip turned on. The only way i could get it back to normal was by shutting the pip off then back on.

Okay, that gives me something to try and see if the XQ50 does the same. Must be some software glitch if that holds true for both scopes. I'm thinking with the higher native mag that I have in this scope, the PIP function may not be as important as it was with the XD50A.

Yeah, at first i was a little upset about it and considered sending it in for repair. But when i talked to pulsar about it, they claimed they had never heard of that problem before. Once I realize that I could somewhat remedy it by turning the pip function off and back on I decided to just go ahead and keep the scope and at that time I was using only profile number one and didn't realize that it was different for different profiles.

I was messing around with the scope one day in the yard and realized that when I switched it to profile number 3 that the crosshairs lined up perfect for both the PIP and the lower crosshairs. I discovered this right in the middle of my hunting season so I just stuck with using profile number 3.

Through this whole entire situation I was using a hand warmer as a Target. Once I tried using an incense stick I was able to notice the difference quite a bit better because the aiming point was so much smaller
