Pulsar XQ38 vs Super Hogster

Thanks, that's what I thought you were doing, just seems plenty high for AR use. I prefer a heads up style myself, but I'm comfortable with my AR with it being 2 5/8" from bore center to scope center. Are thermals different in regards to "center".

My bolt gun quandary is being rectified, as I bought a chassis w/an adjustable cheek piece, and I'm peddling the McMillan.

Realistically, I think I'll just set up the AR for thermal first, & worry about the bolt gun mounting options later. I just have more faith in the accuracy of my bolts vs the AR's.

I don't have a lot of expertise in this area. I know the TNVC guys know all the heights of most guns and NV systems.

From a practicality standpoint, I've historically ran all my thermals on a variety of different ARs and never used a riser until now. However, on some of my ARs, the height seems fine. On others, I tend to have to cant my neck and head to get a full sight picture. This varies depending on thermal brand, mount height, and AR. After putting the LaRue 5/8" riser, it was enough to remedy the situation my ARs that weren't comfortable but didn't make it too high on the others plus allow the scope to be mounted further back on my bolt-action guns, so a win-win
