I like the 45 Goverment Model and this pistol feels very close to the 45 but in 22 lr and much lighter to pack. I will tote this or my Smith 317 as a back up when calling. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif

If that thing shoots anything close to my MIII Hunter, you are going to love it!

Mines the 6" barrel and its all stainless with the rosewood grips. Did yours come with all the different sight insert for the front? I wish they would have included some that where alittle smaller.

Sweet gun bea! That'll be just the thing for the coup de grace' shot, or adding a little small game for the pan. Gotta love .22LR handguns, and rifles for that matter! A sweet packin' .22 handgun is about as handy as pockets on a shirt. Nice pistola...

My dad has an MKII target version in stainless w/ a 6" barrel and a red dot. And as Furhunter said, if it shoots anything close to ours you'll have a smoking backpackin'/ backup calling pistol. Awesome buy!

That's a dandy looking pistol. I've been carrying a Rossi four inch stainless revolver for a bunch of years now. It replaced my Smith Kit gun when that was stolen years ago.

I shot a MKII 6 7/8 inch target model that Clark had worked over and put in his trigger for a bunch of years. It's so accurate that it'll give most rifles a run for their money.

Anymore I've gotten so used to carrying my little Taurus ultra-light 38 snubby that the 22 stays home a lot. I load Speer shot capsules for snake loads here in this Idaho canyon country. It's not unusual to see a few rattlers in a days fishing.

I love my MKII Competition model, that thing is a shooter for sure, never saw one that wasn't /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif. That is a neat little packing piece you got there. I'm also glad to see Ruger updating their mag releases and loaded indicators /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif. I bought just before they did all the upgrades, wished I had waited one more year, but I still wouldn't get rid of mine for anything. You should get many years of fun out of that one /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif. Mine has had thousands of rounds of high velocities put through it with very few cleanings and very few problems, hard to beat them Ruger auto pistols.

Yes it came with extra clip and all the sight inserts. The gun shop had the 6 inch but i prefer the 4 inch in a 22 pistol. I shoot them as well as the longer version and they are easier to pack. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
