Ramshot did a primer test in their load guide edition one. With a .223 and Xterminator powder.......same brass, same 52Hornady hp, same seating depth, same charge weight......5 different primers. Lowest pressure was 44,880 psi, highest was 50,887 psi. But velocity at highest pressure was only 35fps faster than the lowest pressure.
... and, if you ever have the chance to run a pressure gun, you will quickly realize how inaccurate they are - run a test today, with weighed cases and weighed charges, and you get a spread of 5 to 10 Kpsia, so you take the average and write it down, but Fred comes in tomorrow and runs the same test with the same cases, and he gets different number... chamber pressure is far from being an exact science.
