Q Beam bulb

I live "out", and tried 3 parts stores, western Auto, 2 hardware stores. No luck.
Q-Beam is 1 mil kp and brightest bulb found was aircraft landing light at 200K, kp.
I wanted it now. Depredation on beans = bad.
Haven't been able to find one online either.
Found Optronics online, a manufacturer of lights. Didn't want to wait that long but just decided to order a new light.
They list K-Mart, WallyWorld, Cabalas, BassPro and more as dealers. None of them had anything that I wanted.
Most are only carrying rechargeables now and they don't run long enough. I have one of those.
I found what appears to be a usable light at Midway USA on clearance for only $12.83. It is a Primos UTV, 2 mil. kp.
Can probably make good use of the extra cp. since I use a red lens and the 1 mil. cp is hard to shoot much past 200 yards because of ground fog, bugs etc.
The biggest problem with Midway is their high shipping charges. This leads to adding other items so as to not "waste" the shipping charges.
Total order was only $88. after adding a few items. Not bad considering my last order, last week was $99. I sure hate to waste those shipping charges.
I would still like to find a bulb if cheap for the Q-Beam, as a spare.
 
If it is the older model Q-Beam you can use the GE 4537-2 it is a 100 watt aircraft landing light bulb avail at NAPA, and airports they are used on the small planes. They work great see them eyes for a long ways. Perry
 
Hi,I have been useing the GE 4537-2 bulbs for over 30 years now. They will fit right in the old Q-beam and with some mods. will fit the new Q-beams as well. They last a long time and are rugged. I use them for my overhead lights on my truck. And they take the pounding on the oilfield and ranch roads really well.

I did see that bulb in a NAPA store and didn't buy it because of the 200, 000 KP. The Q was supposed to be 1 mil.
I used the one ordered from Midway USA last night (Primos UTV, 2 mil. quartz halogen 12 volt. It didn't seem very bright or at least not twice as bright. The best part though was it was on clearance for $12.83, so it was a bargain and I think the mounting brackets can be modified for a temporary placement on top of the cab of my truck. I had been using folded towels to hold the lights in the past.
I have some red film that was for shrink wrap on a remote controlled glider built for my son about 1982. Used on a 1 mil kp rechargeable critters didn't seem to know it was there and I could shoot my scope a little past 100 yds. That stuff was too dark for the beanfield though.
I had to take it off and go to the red lens that came with the rechargeable (on the Primos). They were very aware of the light but not like a white light. I have been shooting out to around 300 and mostly need that range. With a R.700AS, 270. The one shot last night though was about 75 yds, go figure.
I will get back by NAPA and price the bulb suggested. Mine is an old Q beam. If it is much, I might order a brighter one from Midway. I think they had one with 3 mil kp.
