Quake Claw Rifle Sling

I have had horrible luck with slings lately, especially the ones that want to act like a hula-hoop while on my shoulder. So I went to my local Academy Sports and found the Quake Claw sling in camo that matched my AR-15 perfect, so I went back yesterday and picked up a black one for my Rem 700. While I was cruising around Cabelas website I notice they carry them in 8 different colors! I ordered the Sand one to slap on my .17HMR So far I love these sling and they are well built considering the price!

I've got them on 2 different rifles, and I love them too. Last deer season I was headed to a spot I never hunted before and I was running late. I ended up forgetting my drag rope, and of course I harvested a deer that day. I took my claw sling off my rifle and used it for a drag rope, I had to drag that deer about 3/4 of a mile and it showed me just how strong those slings really are.

Best sling on the market....for practical use
Theyre not pretty but they work....and they do everything a sling should do....

I'm very happy with this sling. I like the fact it doesn't let my rifle slide (move) a lot during long hikes, jumping over logs, ditches, etc

Yep, this is not the sling to wear with no shirt on unless you’re looking for hair removal

I have two of them and plan on adding a few more. I've owned dozens and dozens of slings and this Claw sling is my favorite. I also like the Outlaw sling, but it is for more specialized purposes. The Claw is in my opinion the best for general use. It sure does keep those heavy barreled rifles on your shoulder.

Cabelas almost always puts the snow camo on sale towards the end of hunting season for like $7. I would have bought both but whats the point when I don't have a snow camo rifle? But they are great slings.

That's the only thing I don't like. I wish they made it easier to swap out swivels. One is easy to replace b/c of the slider adjustment. One of these days, I'm going to get around to ripping the seams that keep the other one in place and replacing it with a Uncle Mikes.

I have only had problems with the plastic/polymer swivels one time over the years. On a very wet/cold/wet/cold mule deer hunt it started squeaking on a stalk. I spent about a minute screwing around with it and got it to stop squeaking and never had the problem again. Durability wise, never had one fail and I own quite a few of the slings.

The polymer swivels are unsightly. I changed the top one out for an Uncle Mikes but the bottom one will require cutting or unstitching. Haven't figured out how to re-sew it yet. Anybody done this?

I did just that on the three Claw slings I have purchased in the past year. The wife is getting good at sewing the Uncle Mike's swivel in place after I remove the seam and the supplied plastic swivel. Doesn't really take all that long.
