Question about Devcon

Does devcon steel putty in the 1lb container have to be mixed with a hardener or something, or is it ready to go from the jar? thanks

Oh...I've never seen it come that way. Devcon 10110 is a stiff putty that comes in a can....with a can of hardener. I can't imagine how you'd get it to flow from a syringe...lol

Seems I should have read the question better, as I was on my way out the door. Missed the "1 lb. container" part

The Devcon that comes in the syringe is pretty user friendly stuff, just squeeze out and mix. It is particularly nice to have around if you don't need a lot for what you are doing. Say bedding some bottom metal or something......

The Devcon that comes in the syringe is the same stuff, I presume. It is pretty user friendly stuff, just squeeze out and mix. It is particularly nice to have around if you don't need a lot for what you are doing. Say bedding some bottom metal or something......

I'll have to look at that...the only thing I've ever used is the #10110. Its quite stiff and totally full of steel. I love the stuff!.... Best bedding compound ever made IMO....It stays exactly where you put it, doesn't shrink, and sets as hard as a chunk of iron.

Not sure what stuff I have here, nothing written on the tube, but they make a lot of different products. It definitley is not the stuff that is like steelbed, such as you describe. Don't think that would be syringe friendly either.....

Yep, it's good stuff!
I tried it for the first time last week.
I cut the end off a large syringe and used it to measure it exactly. It mixes at a ratio of 1-2.5 by volume (not weight!), and it needs to be exact.
It sets up harder than Chinese arithmetic!
