Question for 25-06 Shooters

110 Accubonds over retumbo at 3100FPS. Everything is DRT!. I am thinking of switching to the 100 TTSX though since the hippies are just about to outlaw lead here.
 
I currantly shoot a 25wssm while its not a 06 its basicly the same. I've had explosive results with the 85Gr nbt. As far as deer the 120 grain pep has worked best for me, but don't know if it can be had in the 06.
 
My favorite varmint bullet for the .25-06 has been the Sierra 87 gr. It has worked so well that I have never had the opportunity to even try the Nosler 85 bt. There's just something about that 87 gr spitzer.

Even though the rifle kicks enough so you can't watch through the scope I could always tell a hit by the slap sound it makes.

For deer or larger I prefer the 117 to 120 gr bullets.
 
As you're interested in "fur-unfriendly" for the 25/06, buy the cheapest, yet accurate bullet e.g. the Hornady 75 gr.HP or similar Sierra weight.

These have performed well in my 25/06.

I found a few old boxes of sierra positive expanding hollow points. So, I loaded up a few. Very impressed with the results, a lot better than the poly tips.
 
I've had good results on antelope with the 117 Sierra SBT at about 3150 MV. The shoot super accurate, do what they are supposed to do when they hit game, aren't terribly expensive, and oh yeah, I like the green box. They tend to be a little messy on a close range hit but how many antelope do you shoot at close range anyway? I've got zero experience shooting varmints with this rifle so I'm going to pass on that one (but if I were I'd start looking at the the lighter weight Sierras).
 
The 75g vmax and 85g nbt are the bullets to use for splat factor and big holes in dogs or to vaporize smaller critters...The TNT never came close to being as explosive as these two bullets for me. For dogs the 85g NBT at 3500fps is tough to beat. The 75g vmax gets pushed around to much for me.

For antelope and deer you wont find much better combo then the 115g NBT. I've used this bullet over years out to 600 yards with nothing but great results, still haven't found a bullet, always gone through the shoulders.

For dual purpose bullet its tough to beat the 100g NBT. This is what I use, at 3375fps and BC of .393 Not much will beat this combo to 500 for dogs/deer. It will rip coyotes a new one if shoulder is hit to 150-200 yards, and do the same to deer for that matter. Put it behind the shoulder and you dont see as big of hole or mess, as with anything know the limitations of the bullet and task at hand.
 
I shoot Hornady 87 gr. Spire Point flat based with IMR4831. Shoots extremely well, not as expensive as others, and the only large male coyote I've shot was practically knocked off it's feet. Possibly the flat base design made it very easy to quickly and easily develop a load in my rifle.
