Question for y'all about a potential full mount

Cool Collection Al.

Got a couple things I would like to do yet. Price of doing things anymore is getting more of an issue all the time. Alaska is #1 on the list.

There is a good chance you may not like the looks of the mount when it is finished.
That's why you don't pick a taxidermist on price alone.

Thanks....

I'm glad I did what I did when I did it, as I couldn't afford it now, let alone getting the mounts done

I agree . I've talked myself out of a few hunts.
The making money to hunt ratio was less painful in my youth.

I had a chance to hunt hard antlered caribou in Quebec with a group of guys years ago. Was $1550.00 if I remember correctly, which included... gas, food, lodging ,tags . It was my first out of state hunt, it was amazing !

I would like to give a shout out to the taxidermists that produce great work . I dabbled just enough to know how much work and skill it takes to produce a fine mount. I've never wanted to pay more than I had to, but often thought the price isn't enough for the work and time involved.

I raise my glass to those artist out there !

A lot of truth in that.

When I shot my biggest Black Bear, I asked the owner of the bear camp & another guy in camp (who was also a taxidermist) who would you have do this bear? Both responded to the same place, which ended up doing my bear and every mount after that. The guy was a judge in the big taxi shows, & his wife was the head taxidermist at Milwaukee County Museum. Quality was never in question.
