Question? How far does a call travel

Out of curiosity does anybody know the distance the sound of a call will travel? take example: a long range hand held call (Primos Raspy Coaxer) or something similar on a windless day on lets say open terrain.
I understand that in dense woodland and hilly ground things will alter as with the weather.
But does anybody have any facts/figures on this subject in distances they have achieved to call in coyotes and fox?

For me it depends on if I am throwing it across straight country on down a ravine. I was able to send one (make and model will remain nameless) about 350ft one time after it froze up in good weather one too many times. I have found that with the extra weight I can get a lot more distance off of a howler.

Actually I have nothing documented but the last coyote I called in would have been approx. 2 miles away knowing the area (basically I don't know because I can't confirm where the animal came from or its speed of travel). More often than not I am not in areas that do not allow watching the dog travel, they usually show up right in your face withing 20 seconds to 3 minutes.

LOL I.O.N. becareful though tossing somehting that hard has a tendancy to be rough on the shoulders.

I have seen yotes come froma real long ways 1.5 to two miles out a time or 2. Under the right conditions I would venture to say that yotes can hear the call 2-3 miles out atleast.... Thats if everything is right... Now let the wind carry you and I bet it can get evenfurther.

My big question on calling distance has always been not so much of how far they can here the call but from how far away are they willing to come? I have had situations from listening to them howl after calling they are probably 5 miles away but thats usually in the evening and in the time it would take them to get there it is dark.
