Quick Detachable Scope Rings... Why?!

I have Leupold QD's on my ML.Makes cleaning much easier.I probably wouldn't put them on a CF but if it had open sights it would be nice if the scope got creamed in a fall or something.

Especially if shipping / transporting rifles via AIRLINES!! I never had high $$ scopes to worry about ..but had high $$ camera lenses and they went with ME...not down in the general cargo hold.

Everyone else in the world doesn't or may not...treat my equipment as gently as I might

Yep, if you can't see an advantage, there must not be one. I guess that's why no one use them. This is a classic case of "I don't like em, so they stink!" open minds people, open minds.

Alignment marks on the levers will get you back with in 1/2moa. Of course, this is with quality rails and quality rings. If you try to skimp on the small stuff, you will be disappointed every time.

Most of my hunting rigs have fixed 1.5x or variable 1x4 / 1.5x6 scopes on them. When I'm doing load development I pop on a a 6.5x20 or 8x32. I also remove my scopes while cleaning the rifle.
Having a presighted 4x for a backup is great insurance for a hunting trip. I like QD rings.
