"Mad Bomber" hats

With this cold snap we're into at the moment, I was wondering how many of you guys wear "Mad Bomber"-style hats......whether on the job...or while hunting??

I admit that I do.
I used to wear stocking caps when it was cold. But, even though I keep my hair super-short, the dang stocking caps always kept "creeping" up my head, leaving my ears exposed if I didn't keep pulling it down.

I wear the USPS issued one while stuffing bills & junk mail in your mailboxes....yup its goofy BUT hecka warm!

You mean my favorite hat makes me look goofy?!

I like getting them a size larger and wearing it very nicely over my baseball hat.

Normal to see up in these colder states, and even the most fashion savy of people have a jelous comment to make when its 0 degrees

When my dad came home from the Korean War, he brought his flight suit with him. Sheep lined coat, coveralls, and a "Bomber Hat"--the original bomber hat I might add--not like the one worn by the fruit loop up in the MI. woods.Yes(OP) you should wear your hat-it keeps you warm.

I bought one that was lined and the outside was rabbit fur.I loved it till I thought about what it would look like going through the woods to another hunter.

It don't matter what it looks like as long as it keeps you warm. I frequently wear a Bomber hat.

When it is brutally cold, I will wear a balaclava (not sure of the spelling, also called a neck gaiter) and put my bomber on top of it. The neck gaiter seals up the heat loss around the neck area. I HATE wearing hoods as they do not move when you turn your head.

Bomber + neck gaiter is the best that I have found.

Jack, I'm not sure if your question was meant for me...but here's a link to the website of "the original mad bomber" hat.... http://www.madbomber.com/

I admit, I've always thought about getting one custom made entirely from coyote pelts.
But, never have checked into the cost.
Plus, I've also been leery of the maker NOT getting the fur entirely clean & free of fleas/ect.

My newest one I got last year. Made in China, not as good of quality as the onthers I had. I don't remember if the couple I had years ago were made in China also. The newer one doesn't have the nicest fur and a couple other chinsy spots.

If you are getting one and you have several to choose from at the store, look close for the quality.

Mine came from Northern Supply and it's a good one. Starting to look a bit ragged with paint smears and such but it's still warm.
