Hey Randy,
Could you please tell me how you made that flip-up red filter for your flashlights on the "Hunting the Night Shift" video?

Thanks

Butler Creek scope cover made to fit the flashlight. Cover it with the red dykem and away you go.

Buker

PS. I know you addressed it to Watson, I just like to show off from time to time. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

You guys are talking about the Butler Creek Blizzard scope covers, right? That is ingeniuos!! What kind of flashlights were you guys using? What kind of range were you getting out of them? BTW, I have your video on my Xmas list. I hope the wife comes through!!

Swift:

That's right....the Blizzard covers are what you want to use. I just sprayed red Dykem on the inside of mine and it has held up good for the past two seasons.

Take care and God Bless,

Rusty

Burris, go here and type "dykem" in the search engine on the left hand side of the screen. It will be called lay out and staining fluid, but that is dykem. You can get it in different size containers and in blue or red.

I am going with the Stream Light SL-20X. I got one for free so I cannot beat the price. It is 30,000cp and will operate non-stop for 1.5hrs. It also has a vehicle recharging feature that I like. I ordered a Blizzard Scope Cover in size 11 to fit the bezel of the flashlight head. 30,000cp is plenty for my shooting conditions.

One of the advertisers here at PM sells scopes, etc. and can tell you what size you need if you give him an outside measurement ... sorry, but I forgot who it is!

Thanks for the great idea guys. This is my Steam Light SL-XP mounted on my mini. 30,000cp, a burn time of 1.5hrs, and can be recharged in the truck!!

I looked at both of my lens covers and didn't find a number, I took mine to the gun store and tried them 'til I found one that worked. If you can't get a number, let me know and I'll go back and see if I can get you a number. Randy

Thanks TXSniper. I am taking it out in the early, early hours this saturday morning. Hope it works well. I took the light only out last night to test the distance that the light throws. It did a darn good job. Will easlily get shot at 70-80yds with it.
